"A friend of ours referred Jim Walsh to us in 2005. At the time, we had two other proposals from general contractors for a 2nd floor addition on our 1921 brick bungalow in Evanston. Despite their marketing, reputation and claims of expertise neither had impressed us: their bids and schedules were unprofessional and each interviewed poorly. When we met Jim, we were cautiously optimistic. He was easy-going, a good listener, and honest--nothing like the typical general contractor on the North Shore. Our decision to hire Walsh Custom Homes was easy and, unquestionably, the right decision.
